Privacy Policy

This policy covers ventureease.biz only. Each VentureEase product (StartEase, LaunchEase, HireEase) has its own privacy policy governing data within that app.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: email, first name, last name, password (stored hashed with bcrypt — we never see or store the plaintext), email-verification timestamp, last login time.
• Blog subscriptions: email only. Status (pending / confirmed / unsubscribed) and per-subscriber tokens for double opt-in confirmation and one-click unsubscribe.
• Contact form: name, email, subject, message, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string at the time of submission.
• Authentication telemetry: login attempts (email + IP + outcome) used for progressive lockout against brute force.
• Cookies: a session cookie (VBIZ_SESSID, HttpOnly/Secure/SameSite=Lax, 24-minute idle timeout) to keep you signed in; an optional 14-day remember-me cookie (VBIZ_REMEMBER) only if you choose it; an optional first-party analytics cookie (VBIZ_AH) set only if you opt in; and the cookie_consent choice cookie. • Analytics (optional — only if you opt in): our own first-party, privacy-respecting usage analytics. If you turn analytics on, we record page views and basic events keyed to a random, pseudonymous identifier (the VBIZ_AH cookie) — never your name, email, or raw IP. It is never sold or shared with advertisers. Decline (the default) and nothing is recorded.

2. Single sign-on (SSO)

Sign-in across the VentureEase ecosystem is centralized at VentureEase.org, the ecosystem's identity provider. When you open StartEase, LaunchEase, or HireEase from your dashboard, we route you to that identity provider, which signs you in to the product using a short-lived (10-minute), single-use, cryptographically signed (Ed25519) token. VentureEase.biz itself also receives such signed tokens from the identity provider to sign you in here (your email is the identity key). We do not use a shared cross-site tracking cookie. (The earlier peer-to-peer shared-secret token flow has been retired.)

3. Email

We send transactional emails (verification, password reset) and — only to confirmed blog subscribers — new-post notifications. Emails are sent via our own SMTP using the info@ventureease.biz sender address.

4. Where data is stored

Data is stored in a MariaDB database on a NameCheap VPS in the United States. We use industry-standard server hardening (HTTPS, HSTS, secure session cookies, prepared SQL statements, file-permission lockdown).

5. Retention

• Account data: kept until you request deletion. Email info@ventureease.biz to delete.
• Blog subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe. An unsubscribed record is retained as a suppression entry so we do not email you again; a never-confirmed (pending) subscription is purged automatically after about a week.
• Analytics events (only if you opted in): automatically deleted after 90 days.
• Remember-me tokens: expire 14 days after issue (a fixed, non-sliding lifetime) and are then deleted.
• Contact form submissions: kept indefinitely so we can keep context for ongoing conversations.
• Login attempts: kept up to 24 hours for abuse detection, then automatically deleted.

6. Your rights

Email info@ventureease.biz to request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or delete your account.

7. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share data only as needed to operate our own services — for example, routing you through our ecosystem identity provider (VentureEase.org) to sign you into the LaunchEase or HireEase app you're entering, which are operated by us. Our analytics is first-party (our own); we do not use any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services on this site.

8. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
